The bulk of our activities currently take place in Austin, TX, but we welcome support from all areas.
In Central Texas
We are seeking volunteers in several areas, including fundraising, race and event management, marketing, and involvement on various committees. We might need you now and we might need you later, but please let us know what skills and resources you can offer the Foundation. The Gazelle Foundation is a separate organization from Gilbert’s Gazelles Training Group and encourages participation from the entire community. Currently, our greatest need is will be for our two spring-time events – Walk for the Water and Spring for the Water. If you want to volunteer for any of them or have additional questions, email info@gazellefoundation.com.
Work for the Water
Work for the Water is an awareness and fundraising trip that will transform you forever as you get a firsthand look at active Gazelle Foundation projects and see how our completed projects are saving lives. You can read about the experiences from 15 travelers who went in July 2011 via their blogs on this site and a recently published article in the Austin American Statesman: Gazelles Travel to Burundi.
Planning for 2012 is near completion and registration is open HERE. There are three trips of varying length, all with a maximum of 12 slots.
Spring for the Water:
Other areas
We strive to grow the Gazelle foundation on a continual basis. If you would like to help, please let us know your areas of interest and expertise and we’ll see if we can find a match for them. Currently, we are looking for IT assistance as well as various office hour times to help with organization and merchandise. At a minimum, we’ll keep you up with the Foundation’s ongoing activities.
If you’re interested in traveling to Burundi and seeing first-hand the work that has been done, visit www.workforthewater.com. Information on our 2012 trips will be available in the near future.
Contact us at info@gazellefoundation.com and we’ll take advantage of your talents.
